Memorable Mocktails! So many teas - endless possibiliTeas!
Whether you're supporting someone's sobriety journey or participating in Dry January, tea-based mocktails are an elegant booze-free option for you and your guests. "I'm a big believer that people who choose not to drink, for any reason they might have, deserve an elevated beverage that brings a smile to their face," said Sara Emami, mixologist at Laurel Tavern in Studio City, CA, in a recent interview for Real Simple magazine (find the full article here).
Our Tea Based Memorable Mocktail uses just a few simple ingredients to offer a sparkling option at your next party.
FIRST: Choose your tea -
Citrus Ginger Berry black tea
Strawberry Basil white tea
Fuzzy Navel white tea
Ginger Peach Orange white tea
INGREDIENTS
2 heaping Tbsp tea of choice
2 Tbps sugar
Orange slices, frozen cranberries, or frozen strawberries for garnish
1 quart water, divided
3 cups tonic water
2 Tbsp lime or lemon juice
plenty of ice
STEP BY STEP
Brew tea: 16 oz near-boiling water + 1 heaping Tbps tea of choice in your IngenuiTea, for 4 minutes. Decant into your favorite half-gallon pitcher and add sugar; stir thoroughly.
Repeat step 1 (you probably added all the sugar the first time and won't need to add additional sugar)
Chill tea 2-3 hours
At party time, add tonic water and lime or lemon juice to your pitcher, stir. Garnish the pitcher with a couple orange slices and/or frozen cranberries and/or frozen strawberries.
TO SERVE
Fill a glass with ice, top with tea mocktail, and garnish as desired
