Our decaffeinated Earl Grey is a classic blend of Bergamot flavors with decaffeinated Ceylon tea. We add blue flowers for a pop of color for a lovely blue-tinted cup with the deep, rich, citrusy aromas of bergamot and the satisfyingly mild astringency of Ceylon.
Our decaffeination process applies high pressure to tea leaves, which causes naturally occurring carbon dioxide to bind to caffeine molecules and remove them from the leaves. This gentle process eliminates the chemical aftertaste present in lower-quality decaf teas and maintains the integrity of the leaf, which means the flavor, aroma, and texture of the tea are nearly identical to caffeinated teas.
